About Garstang Camera Club
Garstang Camera Club meets on the first three Wednesdays of each month starting in September and closing for a summer break in May of the following year.
This year, we start on Wednesday 4th September with an Open Evening. Anyone who is interested in photography is welcome. The evening is free and includes light refreshments.
Photography is a great hobby allowing you to get out and about with your camera or create home studio photographs. Stimulate your creativity using software to enhance your images.
We have an exciting programme of events for 2019/20 including some excellent speakers on a variety of photographic subjects and a new programme of interactive workshops. Some of our experienced members will act as mentors to help with your photography and with using software such as Photoshop or Lightroom.
Also, for this year we have a new set of competitions. We have an Events Cup based on our summer outings and competitions including Environment, Creatures of the World, Humanity and Anything Goes. Each of the competitions has three sections, Colour or Mono Prints and Digital Images.
As well as our regular meetings, we will also be having bi-monthly visits to various venues, the first of which is a visit Oulton Park on 6th September for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
For anyone wishing to take their hobby further, we are affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union and members can enter their competitions and work to gain Awards for Photographic Merit.
Visitors and prospective new members are always given a warm and friendly welcome and we aim to encourage beginners and challenge the experienced. Whatever skills or equipment you bring your interest in photography is the only qualification needed.
