About Garstang Camera Club

Welcome to the website of Garstang Camera Club, established in 1959.

If you are looking at our website with a view to joining, please note that we are holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 12th September.  Please click here for details. Come along as a visitor and see what we have to offer at our small and friendly club. You are welcome to bring some of your images to show us your work if you wish.

Photography is a fantastic hobby. Get out and about with your camera and bring out the artist in you. Stimulate your creativity using software to enhance your images. Meet fellow photographers at the club and discuss techniques and equipment.

From September to May, the Club generally meets at 7.30pm on the first three Wednesdays of each month and we have a mixture of talks from skilled photographers, workshops to help improve your photography and competitions with expert judges who will give constructive comments about your images. Entry into competitions is entirely optional. Our meetings usually finish about 10pm.

During the summer months we have club outings and choose different venues each time. We go as a group, usually in shared transport.

The workshops are a friendly and informal way of getting feedback on your images and receiving help to improve your photography.

Experienced members are always willing to give advice on techniques for taking and processing photographs and on selecting the right equipment to improve your style and technique.

For anyone wishing to take their hobby further, we are affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union and members can enter their competitions and work to gain their Awards for Photographic Merit.
