Barry Wearing will be exhibiting his paintings from 21st Nov. – 14th Dec. Barry, who was born & bred in Liverpool, is a self-taught artist, now living in Winmarleigh with wife Elaine. When Elaine was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, his interest in art was re-ignited and he regularly donates paintings for fund raising events.
As well as paintings of screen icons, Barry’s Liverpool roots are evident in his work and the recent arrival of a grandson has had a great influence.

Garstang Ukulele Group
Well it was interesting reading last month’s Focus, there were 3 different spellings of ukulele, but who’s counting?
December will be our busiest month, we’ve got 7 gigs plus our usual strumalong at the Tithe Barn. All the dates are on our website – www.garstangukulelegroup.co.uk. There will be lots of Xmas songs to sing along with and some of us will be lit up.
New Year’s Eve sees the return of the Garstang Ukenanny at the Tithe Barn where we will be accompanying the northwest’s top punk ukulele band, the brilliant Ukulele Jukebox.
Happy Xmas everyone.

Contact: Ann Kelsall on (01995) 606408 or just turn up!
We continue as a ladies group. On the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month there will be piano accompaniment, but on the 2nd and 4th Mondays we will sing along to CDs/computer. We will still close on bank holidays. Dates will be on The Arts Centre noticeboard.
Songbirds is a very friendly group – we do not give performances, just enjoy singing a wide repertoire and welcome those who have never sung in a group before, as well as those who sing well but do not want the commitment of a ‘proper’ choir!
