What’s on in July

July Art Exhibition

Alyson Telfer and Matt Gartside are two artists who share a studio-gallery on the other side of Lancashire – Aly’s medium is paint and Matt’s photography.

Although the mediums are different, their approaches and subject matter are similar.  They both try to convey movement, emotion and the five senses.

On more than one occasion people have thought that Matt’s photos were Aly’s paintings and vice versa! The exhibition will run from Tues 3rd July to Thurs. 26th July.

Songbirds

Songbirds is a very friendly ladies group – we do not give performances, just enjoy singing a wide repertoire and welcome those who have never sung in a group before, as well as those who sing well but do not want the commitment of a ‘proper’ choir!

We meet every Monday (except Bank Holidays) at 1.30pm. On the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month there will be piano accompaniment, but on the 2nd and 4th (& 5th) Mondays we will sing along to CDs/computer. Dates will be on The Arts Centre noticeboard.

Scarecrow Festival at the Arts Centre

The Arts Centre is taking part in this new competition. Watch out for the scary happenings in our courtyard and we will be open for light refreshments on Saturday afternoon (21st) between 2-4pm. Then visit the other scary crows lurking round Garstang. It should be fun!
