Garstang Ukulele Group

For some reason, probably superstition, we British seem to like having festivals in the midwinter. It was so cold while playing carols in the street for the Victorian Evenings in 2017 that some of our tenor ukes shrunk to sopranos. Meanwhile in Hawaii, the home of ukulele, people are playing in warm sunshine all year long. Somehow we had it wrong, why should we go outside to play in the winter, why not in the summer?

That’s why we formed a second ukulele group called Traffic Jam. Made up of the finest ukulele players Garstang has to offer, Traffic Jam are dedicated to playing in warm weather. There will be no finger-less gloves, woolly hats and big coats for us, not even a music stand for shelter, just sandals and sunshine.

So if you fancy playing the ukulele as Mother Nature intended, in the warm glow of sunshine, visit our website and get in contact.
